If you asked me which project I feel most passionate about…
Then you’re on the right page. The Studio was my final year thesis project. The idea was to create a pilot that we could continue as a serious upon graduation. Five musicians, three days, one song. While we haven’t yet done a second episode, it’s on my list of things to do.
The idea was formed when my brother Keegan and I were brainstorming in our parents basement. Six months later we had our cast and one year later we had our first episode.
This is another project that exemplifies collaboration and the power it has. Although I haven’t continued the series - yet - I keep telling myself that I will. It’s hard because I want the show to accurately represent songwriting, without making it a reality-show competition. There’s something there, I can feel it.
One day I’ll be able to look back at this episode and think ‘this is where it all started.’ We had fun, and we captured a moment in our lives.
It’s harder for me to reflect on this project because I have an unsettling feeling that it’s not done. Let’s hope that I can lift that feeling in the upcoming years.
